Chemical giants like Bayer/Monsanto that profit from toxic pesticides and herbicides want to escape accountability from the harm they cause – and they’re using Congress to do it.

After many years and countless dollars spent litigating against Monsanto, the company still refuses to put a cancer warning label on Roundup, reformulate their product for safety, or remove it from the market altogether.  Instead, they have been working state by state to make sure you can't hold them accountable for causing your cancer.  A provision has been quietly slipped into the Interior Appropriations Bill, that, if passed, would give pesticide manufacturers nationwide immunity from lawsuits for injuries sustained due to their negligence.

We need to generate as many calls as possible so that all U.S. Representatives know that their constituents are aware of what is happening and are outraged by it.  You have two Senators and one Representative in the House.

We urge you - call your Representatives today.  Tell them "I strongly oppose Section 453 of the Interior Appropriations Bill or any provision that shields pesticide companies from liability.  Companies must be held responsible when their products harm."  Someone in the office will answer the phone and take notes on your call. When they get bombarded with the same message, they listen.

We know it may seem intimidating to call your reps, but keep in mind - this goes beyond Roundup.  Vaccines are already immune from liability nationwide, and now pesticide manufacturers may enjoy that same protection.  If we don't act together now,  what would stop every company from obtaining these legal shields for their products?  We will wake up one day soon with no right to sue for injuries caused by the negligence of companies like car manufacturers, airlines, or food suppliers, ever again.

We need to ensure there is a reliable standard of corporate responsibility and accountability for consumers in our country.  Your efforts now can make a difference in your fight against Monsanto for the injuries you have already suffered, and will make a difference for the future of all of our families.  Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
